In the spirit of Jennifer Weiner and Sophie Kinsella, Maria Murnane brings us a funny, entertaining, and quick-witted read that captures the plight of the 20-something female looking to have it all: perfect job, loving relationship, and promising future. Her main character Waverly Bryson appears to have all of these things until her fiancé leaves her at the altar and her world is turned upside down. Suddenly thrust into the dating scene in San Francisco, Waverly stumbles from one bad date to another, while she remains unfulfilled by her day job in sports PR. Finding comfort from the support of her two best friends and reflecting on her daily experiences by jotting down “Honey Notes,” her own brand of self-deprecating wisdom that she dreams of one day turning into her own line of greeting cards, Waverly wonders if her life will ever turn out the way she thought it would.

With an engaging plot inspired by Murnane’s own experiences living and working in San Francisco, PERFECT ON PAPER shares embarrassing, heartbreaking, and hilarious moments from the adventures of Waverly Bryson—moments most women can empathize with. It promises to make you laugh and wince and laugh some more, and it will definitely make you wish you had a friend like Waverly Bryson to tell you that Honey, you are not alone.

Maria Murnane is currently an independent marketing writer living in New York City. She spent several years in San Francisco working in sports PR before quitting her job to pursue her passions in life: writing and soccer.
